Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is seeking an Associate Packaging Engineering Specialist to join our team located in Renton, Washington. Transportation, Warehousing & Logistics (TWL) supports operations and strategy in logistics, warehousing, and reusable packaging engineering. Joining TWL will introduce you to the company''s many operations requiring logistics support. Our Packaging Engineering Specialists are hard-working, goal-oriented and creative, and we are looking for this new team member to participate in every level of design and orientation.Position Responsibilities: Expect to learn all facets of Packaging, earning invaluable skills and industry knowledgeUnder supervision, determines efficiencies and prepares improvements for implementation as part of cost effective worldwide distribution and storage by considering practical packaging and/or handling applicationsAssist in providing logistics support analysis by applying established company policies and procedures in accordance with domestic and international lawsAssists with developing warehousing material flow, equipment layout, and capital budget to store assembly and support materialsUnder supervision, maintains employee awareness for hazardous materials (dangerous goods) general familiarization, function specific, and safety requirements by providing walk-through support to meet federal and international regulationsAssists in training and compliance for the implementation of HM-232 (Hazardous Materials Security Plans) for the receiving, storing and shipping of hazardous materialsEvaluates, classifies and develops packaging instructions for hazardous materialsPlans the markings, labeling, packaging, and documentation for shipments in compliance with Federal, State, and International regulationsMay occasionally interact and present to high level organizational leadershipThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):1+ years of experience reading & interpreting engineering drawings and specifications1+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)1+ years of experience using professional written and verbal communication skills to achieve deliverablesPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline1+ years of experience in dangerous goods, regulations and assessments1+ years of experience with packaging engineering (preferably Military packaging).1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment1+ years of experience working with CAD system (SolidWorks, NX Unigraphics or Catia).1+ years of experience working independently1+ years of experience analytical and design skills1+ years of experience critical thinking and problem solving skillsTypical Education & Experience: Typically, 3 or more years'' related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
