By ensuring that the digital representation of the enterprise digital thread is available through internationally recognized standards applied against Boeing products and services in technology solutions, step function improvements in quality, productivity and value is expected.Join the team that is defining the future! This position will design models that will be used in proving the solutions are ready for digital thread applications for engineering structural design, and work with business unit resources and IT to implement the data level requirements for data standards.Position Responsibilities: Work with stakeholders in structures design to model candidate aircraft end items and evaluate the effectiveness of exchanging the resulting data with supply chain participantsLead the team coordinating with an outside entity in the exchange of model based definition data, identify requirements for model exchange and work with stakeholders to implement those requirementsProvide recommendations to leadership on the readiness of model based definition data using proposed tools and Boeing approved modeling procedures to support digital thread requirementsDefine and validate requirements for new and revised hardware systemsFacilitate development of system integration strategies and architectures that promote use of common tools and processesMentor less experienced employeesWork under general directionThis position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry5+ years of work experience in an engineering position (design, analysis, product support, etc.)3+ years of experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD), utilizing model-based definition (Catia V5 or later versions)Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 3+ years of work experience developing engineering processes, procedures, or methods for performing engineering workExperience working with computing system suppliers to install and configure hardware and software componentsExperience using standards from a standards development organization (i.e. ANSI, ISO, IEC, AIA, etc.) or a professional technical society (i.e. ASME, SAE, INCOSE, etc.)Experience with engineering configuration management tools such as PDM, PLM, or BOM management systemsExperience developing business requirements for implementation in Information Technology systemsGood written and verbal communication skillsTypical Education/Experience: Bachelor''s degree and typically 5 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a Master''s degree with typically 3 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation: Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
