DESCRIPTION Job summary AWS has the most services and more features within those services, than any other cloud provider-from infrastructure technologies like compute, storage, and databases-to emerging technologies, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, data lakes and analytics, and Internet of Things. Whether its Identity features such as access management and sign on, cryptography, console, builder & developer tools, and even projects like automating all of our contractual billing systems, AWS Platform is always innovating with the customer in mind. The AWS Platform team sustains over 750 million transactions per second.The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Identity team builds, operates, and innovates the identity, authentication, and authorization stack for the . We have a proven record of building large systems with very strict requirements for availability, reliability and latency, and are pushing boundaries on operational excellence. The Identity team also owns Service Quotas, which enables customers and internal partners to manage resource limits for services. We are growing quickly, on-boarding many AWS services, and continuously building new features that help both the service teams and our end external customers. In addition to that we plan to invest in automation in partnership with AWS service teams to provide a simplified quota management experience.We are seeking a senior software developer engineer to be part of our team to build solutions on a global scale, owning their systems end to end, and influence the direction of technology used by all customers around the world. In this role you can expect to be part of complex solutions and deliver customer facing functionality. You will have the opportunity to lead mission critical projects, work with senior and principal engineers, and mentor junior level developers.As an Sr. SDE on our team you will: - Collaborate in the design, implementation, and deployment of systems and services.Work and grow with talented teams delivering impactful projects. You''ll need to be able to design and build extremely scalable services, capable of single digit millisecond latency. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C including object-oriented design4+ years of professional software development experience2+ years of experience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team4+ years of professional software development experience3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C including object-oriented design2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master''s degree in Computer Science or related field6+ years developing software solutions in large scale (over 10,000 users) global environments6+ years of experience in building high-performance, highly-available and scalable distributed systemsDeep experience in at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, C or Java and mastery of object-oriented design and programmingStrong understanding of system and application performance characteristicsKnowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operationsAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
