Configures routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols. Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements. Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies. Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process. Plans implementation of enhancements.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Design, plan and build communications networks.• Configure routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.• Coordinate LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.• Monitor the network utilizing industry leading technologies.• Provide innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process. Plans implementation of enhancements.• Analyze customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.• Perform maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.• Maintain network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.• Coordinate the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.• Create plans and configures systems for data communication networks.• Evaluate new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.• Design and build the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.• Provide guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Minimum of 2+ years of Networking experience.• BA/BS (or equivalent experience)• US Security Clearance of Secret or higher is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance.• DoDD 8570 IAT level II (e.g. Security+ CE, etc.) and CSSP Infrastructure Support (e.g., CEH or CySA+, etc.) required to start.• Computing environment certification (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, etc.) required.
