Stanley Consultants is currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join one of our offices located in Chicago, Minneapolis, or Muscatine. Structural Engineering within Stanley Consultants offers diverse and challenging opportunities that set us apart from our competitors. Our structural engineers work on a wide variety of projects including design and analysis of buildings and large non-building structures; from power generation structures, co-generation facilities, central heating and chilled water plants, campus utility distribution systems, to industrial and commercial projects.Essential Duties:Prepare and check structural design calculations, computer models, and drawingsReview fabrication shop drawings for structural materialsCollaborate with mechanical, electrical and civil engineers and architects to develop coordinated design solutions that meet project requirementsDesign structures and foundations based on design codes and standards published by International Building Code, ASCE, ACI and AISCDesign steel structures, including framing for buildings, pipe supports, pipe racks, bridge cranes, equipment supports and access platformsDesign reinforced concrete, including concrete superstructures, slabs, walls and foundations for buildings and equipment (pumps, fans, chimneys, cooling towers, tanks, etc.); underground tunnel and vault systems; and retaining wallsProduce project-specific specifications using company or client standard documentsInstructs designers/technicians to develop designs to working construction drawingsContact vendors, regulatory agencies, and sub-consultants to obtain information, guidance and requirementsAdhere to company standards for quality assurance and quality controlParticipate in project scoping, scheduling and costing for proposal preparation of Structural Discipline workForm a project structural team managing the day-to-day activities seeing that responsibilities are assigned and the execution of tasks are begun and completed according to schedule including inter-discipline coordination and teamworkServe as Project Manager on select projectsAchieve project performance objectives including structural quality, budgets, and schedules while staying within the contractual scope of the projectAssist in client contact and communication pertaining to specific structural projectsProvide assistance during construction to review shop drawings, answer questions, etc.Travel, including visits to project sites for client meetings, field coordination and to monitor construction progressRequired skills, education, and experience:Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited 4-year college or university with a major emphasis in Structural EngineeringDemonstrated experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete design, and finite element, seismic, dynamic and structural analysisMinimum of 7 years relevant structural engineering experience and a P.E. licenseExceptional oral and written communication skillsExcellent client relationship skillsPreferred:Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited 4-year college or university with a major emphasis in Structural EngineeringStructural Engineer licenseExtensive experience using StaadPro, RISA and Mathcad programsIndustrial and Higher Education experienceRevit experienceAre you ready to take your career to the next level with a company that is committed to innovative growth and improving lives in the communities where we live and work?
