LPN - Cardiac Unit - Full-Time

Job DescriptionAdministers nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.POSITION PURPOSEPerform direct patient care within the scope of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act. Assist in the identification of the basic needs of the patient. Contribute to the individualization of patient care. Administers nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEducation:Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing as evidenced by verification of state licensure.Diploma or transcripts required upon hire.Experience:Six months of experience in a hospital or medical environment preferred.Licenses/Certificates:Current Tennessee or Compact State licensed practical nurse license required. Must be current in BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross). If not ACLS certified on hire, must acquire within one year.
