MITRE is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Center for Securing the Homeland (CSH) to focus on providing systems engineering expertise in support of the Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) Program. CSH contains staff with diverse skillsets across the systems engineering spectrum. MITRE is looking for someone to join the team and help enhance these skillsets and contribute to the growth of our systems engineering capabilities and offerings, specifically focused in the C-UAS domain. Job Responsibilities: MITRE is looking for a candidate who understands how to identify, scope, and analyze sponsor challenges and apply systems engineering processes, methods, and appropriate toolsets to solving them. The Senior Systems Engineer will provide input to technology assessments, systems architectures, operational requirements, technical solution studies, conceptual designs, test and evaluation plans, and operational plans. In this role, the candidate will provide technical support for C-UAS research, development, testing, evaluation, and coordination of various C-UAS deployments across the interagency. The candidate must be able to guide sponsors through the systems engineering life cycle. Key Responsibilities Include: * Provide systems engineering support for C-UAS solution identification studies. * Support the evaluation of performance, operational impacts, and collateral risks associated with potential C-UAS solutions. * Provide systems engineering support in developing and executing C-UAS capability development strategies. * Work with the HSSEDI C-UAS team to coordinate C-UAS deployments with an emphasis on the management of radio-frequency spectrum.* Support interagency collaboration efforts with the Federal agencies. * Provide C-UAS technical and programmatic recommendations for planning, coordinating, and executing. Minimum Qualifications: * Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor''s degree; or 3 years and a Master''s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience. * Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances. Required Qualifications: * Broad experience across the Systems Engineering life cycle with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.* Depth in at least two Systems Engineering lifecycle phases, with an understanding of the full life cycle.* Strong written and oral communications skills.* Strong organizational and time management skills.* Ability to work well within teams and independently.* Ability to work well with sponsors.* Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. PreferredQualifications: * MS in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related Information Technology or Engineering field.* Experience supporting a Federal C-UAS mission or project.* Task/project management or technical lead experience.* Ability to engage and cultivate trusted partnership with sponsor and key stakeholders.* Secret Level Clearance.
