MITRE is seeking a Group Leader (GL) for a Mission Systems group to manage a diverse technical team focused on systems engineering, analysis, and technology insertion. The selected candidate is expected to be a critical player in building a high performing team focused on solving DHS operational challenges to improve mission outcomes. The candidate should be comfortable with supervising a multidiscipline team of senior technical subject matter experts, operational experts, and project leaders. The GL will lead his/her group to bring innovative system solutions through assisting the Division Management in establishing capability steward positions that develop, enhance, and build mastery of key technology areas in demand by the sponsor. The Mission Systems Group is expected to support a broad range of lifecycle acquisitions and procurements in different phases that includes Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence (C5I) systems, surveillance systems and IT systems related to Military and Law Enforcement operations. The GL should be able to demonstrate strong domain knowledge in one or more of those areas. The GL is also expected to help the Department Manager, Program Managers, and Project Leaders provide the best ''MITRE'' staff to related projects and activities that cut across our sponsor work program. The ability to establish relationships and partnerships across critical MITRE program organizations and Innovation Labs is key to bringing the entire corporation to the fight on our sponsor''s toughest challenges. This GL position requires exercising leadership and excellent interpersonal skills to effectively supervise, develop, and manage team members. In addition, the candidate will work close with the department manager to ensure the delivery of quality technical products, staff recruitment, development, and placement, and provide input into the growth of the department work program. Job Responsibilities : * Support department efforts to staff new work programs with the sponsor.* Ability to manage and guide staff in their professional development.* Promote the advancement and application of model-based engineering, complex systems engineering, systems-of-systems engineering, and systems thinking.* Contribute to teams with expertise in one or more of the following systems engineering practice areas: system life-cycle management, requirements engineering, modeling & simulation, systems architecture, system design, quality management, test and evaluation, and process analysis and improvement. Required Qualifications: * Demonstrated record of strong leadership skills.* Demonstrate ability to manage and assess development teams.* Strong interpersonal skills as well as effective verbal and written communication skills.* Motivation to expand knowledge and skills and assume responsibility.* Excellent communication and leadership skills.* Outgoing and enthusiastic.* Broad technical understanding of C5I systems to include Terrestrial and Satellite Communications, Networking, ISR, and Software Systems and Applications related to situational awareness and exploitation of information for Intelligence* Solid Systems of Systems Engineering background with a good understanding of Cybersecurity* Experience working in intelligence (e.g., Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, or Law Enforcement).* BS in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, Data Science) and 5 years of related experience or MS and 3 years of related experience Preferred Qualifications: * TS/SCI* USCG or Navy Experience This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s): Secret This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s): Top Secret/SCI Subject to all federal and state laws, rules and regulations, MITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
