Job Posting Description$15K sign-on bonus for eligible new hires with more than 1 year of experience!$10K sign-on bonus for eligible new hires with less than 1 year of experience!The Assistant Chief Technologist, Diagnostic will be responsible for:* Overseeing daily operations of imaging area, including prioritizing and scheduling patients to achieve efficient, effective and safe patient flow. Supervising technical staff, assistants and students, and monitoring the quality of procedures; managing a significant aspect of the imaging area.* Maintaining inventory of medical supplies. Monitoring and maintaining equipment operation, reporting malfunctions to vendor or Radiology engineering as appropriate, coordinating scheduled preventive maintenance. Researching and recommending equipment purchases.* Monitoring and maintaining compliance with guidelines for radiation safety, quality control and Joint Commission/National Patient Safety Goals.* Participating in development and implementation of new technical protocols. Performing duties of a technologist as needed.* Interacting and communicating both inter and intra departmentally to ensure patient exams are performed in an efficient and effective manner. Communicating with patients and their families regarding their individual procedures.* Collaborating with the Modality Operations Manager on writing and delivering performance evaluations, coaching and development of staff. Setting and maintaining high work standards. Delegating authority, responsibility and work appropriately among subordinates or subordinate work units.* Maintaining and editing protocols for the scanner.* Working with physicist regarding dose/protocols.* Reviewing exam protocols in the ROC.* Assisting with training of new staff in Radiology department.To qualify, you must have:* Current Massachusetts registration as a Radiologic Technologist.* Knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor''s degree in Radiologic Technology.* 4+ years of experience is required.* The analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems OR design relatively complex systems and programs.* Communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well developed writing skills.Boston Children''s Hospital offers competitive compensation and unmatched benefits, including a flexible schedule, affordable health, vision and dental insurance, generous levels of time off, 403(b) Retirement Savings plan, Pension, Tuition Reimbursement, and discounted rates on T-passes (50% off).
