Favor TechConsulting, LLC (FTC) is seeking a talented Cyber- Security Data Engineer/Specialist with government experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Role Overview: Supports SIEM/SOAR efforts and log aggregation technologies to ensure data is ingested, normalized, parsed, and prepared for analysis. Ensures data from multiple, variant technologies is prepared for operational use. Responsibilities: * Review and analyze previous iterations of the ''continuous monitoring'' data model(s) to understand data sources, data structures, and reporting requirements * Analyze continuous monitoring data sources available in data repositories, such as Azure Sentinel, or direct tool API access * Leverage Azure/Sentinel data modeling environments/structures to implement next iteration of data models * Work with stakeholders to ensure cloud governance approvals are obtained * Create reports from data model(s) to government specifications. * Create automated routines to meet periodic reporting requirements * Create reports and presentations using PowerBI or other presentation tools * Periodically update models to adjust to changes in source data or reporting requirements * Leverage other available data sets to create actionable insights, via the use of data modeling/data engineering, with tasks prioritized by COR/project management Required Skills & Experience * Experience in integrating Azure Sentinel into an existing Cyber Security framework. * Knowledge of data science principles to include data normalization, data aggregation, data tagging/labeling, data analytics * Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate analysis in written products and verbal presentations. * Ability to work independently. * Ability to devise and implement creative solutions. * Ability to represent the organization in intra- and inter-agency meetings, and with external partners Professional Certification(s): At least one of the following or equivalent IT certifications: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), Security+ Formal Education: N/A Years of Professional Experience: A minimum of five (5) years direct experience with Splunk, Sentinel, and PowerBI.
