Senior Project Manager, Portfolio Optimization, Reporting & Tools :The Portfolio Optimization, Reporting & Tools (PORT) is, in part, responsible for the applications necessary for Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products (DPEP) Tech & Digital to deliver quality projects in support of the various parks, experience and product organizations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overall project management for all projects, processes and/or tools supported by the PORT team(s). The Sr. Project Manager will work closely with the end users, application teams, and key stakeholders to enhance the business processes and partner with the tools team to ensure capabilities are utilized to optimize business practices.Role OverviewBudget / Financials and Resource ManagementCreate/establish/maintain program and project financial and resource level forecasts for both labor and non-labor charges e.g. resource plans.Demonstrate the ability to track actual charges both labor and non-labor.Collaborate with project controller to analyze and manage funding weekly.Can reconcile project financials and can articulate, with authority, the current state of budget and financials to team, delivery leads, and senior leaders.Working with the project controller (or individual managing project financials) is able to clearly articulate project variances to forecast and outlines cause of change.Has adopted Clarity Tomorrowland and provides feedback to improve the tool.Scope and Change ManagementEnsure that project scope is accurately defined and mapped.Ensure that there are processes and/or tools in place to accurately manage defined scope throughout the project lifecycle (e.g. additions to and removal of scope + changes of scope) and the ability to report out on scope complete status using standard tools.Manages change, works with the Product Owner and project team to prioritize the work, assess impact of change and communicates with leadership, and appropriate stakeholders for change approval and impacts.Schedule, Dependency and TimelineCreates program/project/sprint/release plans with clear dependencies across multiple swim lanes of work and manage those dependencies closely throughout the project lifecycle.Ensures proactive scheduling of key deliverables, milestones and tasks.Ensures that required tools (Clarity, Version One, ServiceNow, etc.) are up-to-date with your current project status each week.Emotional Intelligence & Stakeholder ManagementIs able to manage work stress effectively and has a professional demeanor.Effectively mediates team conflicts and dynamics.Delivers and receives feedback effectively.Escalation management intelligence to whom and when to engage leadership.Risk and Issue ManagementCollaborates with the delivery partners, product owners, stakeholders and teams to identify risks and mitigate them before they turn into issues.Partners with all stakeholders to quantify risk likelihood and impacts.Drives the identification and execution of mitigating plans.Drive the team to address issues to ensure planning and re-planning with complete transparency and communication.Escalates to leadership promptly to clear the path for the team.AgileEmbraces an agile mindset, demonstrates hands on leadership helping teams to be agile.Acts as champion to engage an Agile Coach, understands the value of that engagement and the signs of when to engage.Is efficient and effective with Scrum ceremonies. Ensures initial planning and continuous planning is completed with transparency and uses agile team metrics (velocity, burn-down, etc.) to influence Product Owners and Team Members.TeamFosters a team environment of self-organization, retrospect to learn with the goal of delivering the highest value to our delivery partners.Sponsors process and practice improvements in the project management environment using the PPM Supers initiatives and serves as a catalyst for project management excellence by submitting and voting on ideas in the space.Critical ThinkingDemonstrates an ability to employ critical thinking to deal with issues this individual routinely faces which can result in churn, conflict, group think or stalled progress.Uses logical reasoning such as being able to distinguish fact from opinion and evaluate the relevance and accuracy of information.Uses outcome-based thought process. How will we get to the identified goal.FlexibilityIf there is a need or desire to work earlier or later than stated work hours this individual is able to get work done and meet schedule commitments.Team member is available during core working hours to support your team (e.g. 10-4 for east cost to attend meetings, etc.).When working remotely, team member reviews with delivery partners and obtains permission from their PMO manager in advance of the required event, (Note: working remotely is not a standard practice with the PMO. With limited exception team members may not have regularly scheduled remote days).CommunicationTeam member works closely with the PMO leadership to understand and shares them with delivery partner municates swiftly and accurately to requests from the Management and Executive teams.Project/Product DeliveryConfidently lead and drive cross-functional project teams through full delivery life-cycle, with a focus on our continued development of Agile deliveryWork with cross discipline delivery leads and team members to validate project assumptions, dependencies and review plans with senior leadership.Serve as primary liaison among multiple teams, including project controllers, solutions engineering, application teams, infrastructure, planning, business partners, vendors and other key functional delivery teams.Hands on leadership guiding teams to think Lean and be Agile.Foster a team environment of self-organization, retrospect to learn and adapt with the goal of delivering the highest value to our guests and cast.Sponsors process and practice improvements in the project management environment and serves as a catalyst for project management excellence.Plays an active role in building our practice through the mentoring and development of talent.Lead with an inclusive leadership style that embraces diversity, and will allow them to successfully operate in a highly matrix organizational system where partnership and influence are key drivers of success.Basic QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of Project Management experience, in a cross-functional technical software delivery capacity with a focus on Agile delivery and Agile delivery tools such as VersionOne, Jira, etc..Proven experience as a leader and decision maker with at least 4 years of experience in leading large, multidisciplinary efforts across a large scale matrix organization.Proven facilitator that can lead project meetings and large workshops driving commitments, accountability, and deliverables.Demonstrated exceptional critical thinking, strategic planning, and process management skills.Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills to achieve business resultsProven ability to deliver projects on time and on budget while communicating with key senior leaders.Demonstrated inclusive leadership that embraces diversity.Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills.Required EducationMinimum college/undergraduate degree (e.g., B.S. /B.A.) and/or equivalent experience.Job ID: 10006892Location: Orlando,FloridaJob Posting Company:The Walt Disney Company and its Affiliated Companies are Equal Employment Opportunity employers and welcome all job seekers including individuals with disabilities and veterans with disabilities.
