Promotes the Company''s core values of respect, integrity, commitment, and trust.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure facility compliance with company policies/procedures and State/ Federal regulations. Provide education, system implementation and monitoring, and development of performance improvement plans in conjunction with Administrators and Directors of Nursing to promote positive resident outcomesAssist with training facility management including Directors of Nursing, Resident Care Manager, and licensed nurses and nursing assistants as requested, on company skilled nursing policies and procedures, and State and Federal regulationsProvide interim DNS support as assignedProvide interim support as needed through the survey process including assistance with preparation for survey and monitoring for complianceProvide training to Prestige P and P as well as implementation of systems new to DNSPrepare visit reports and audit results for the Regional Director of Operations, Regional Nurse Consultant, and Senior Regional Support NurseMay be assigned other interim duties as neededCOMPANY WIDE RESPONSIBILITIESSupports a dignified and caring atmosphere with residents, residents'' families, visitors and staff. All information obtained in the field, or at Central Support, is kept strictly confidentialProtects privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to the residents and employeesSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESAs an interim DNS, will supervise nursing staff in the buildingAs the Clinical Specialist, over the course of training of a new DNS, will systematically transition supervisory responsibility to the new DNSEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEThe Director of Nursing must have a RN, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in NursingMinimum of 4 years working in geriatric nursing, including experience with medication administration, delivery systems and pharmacies2 years in supervisory/management position, including experience with budgets, staff development, training and schedulingAdditional course work in management is an assetWorking knowledge of MDS process, state and federal survey, and CMS is preferredLANGUAGE SKILLSAble to communicate effectively, in English, with personnel at all levels of the organization, with residents, their friends and family, and with members of the community. Ability to present training to small and large groups. Computer skills include at least a working knowledge of Microsoft Office including e-mail, Excel and Word.REASONING ABILITYAbility to accurately assess, trouble-shoot, and problem-solve to meet the needs of the skilled nursing facility, residents, and clinical staffAbility to develop plans for improving clinical systems that can be implemented with others.
