Position SummaryBuena Vista Health and Recovery Centers is a growing, state of the art healthcare recovery center with multiple locations. We are currently seeking a Behavioral Health Technician - PRN to join our team of passionate healthcare professionals at our Chandler, AZ Campus.This position helps doctors and nurses with the treatment of patients who have various behavioral problems, such as substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, mental instability and physical and emotional abuse.The Behavioral Health Technician PRN must be open to working a schedule that includes scheduled shifts and on call shifts and be flexible to work on weekdays and weekends. Duties and ResponsibilitiesObserve patients, listen to their concerns, record their observations and report to mental health professionals about any unusual behaviorCheck vital signs such as temperature and heart rateGive medication under the direction of medical staffAssist with daily living activities such as eating, bathing, and groomingMonitor patient''s mood or behavior changes and assess whether it is positive, negative or potentially dangerous, then take steps to modify the patient''s actions or alert the appropriate medical professionalsMaintain safety for themselves and their charges by performing duties as simple as keeping patient files confidential and secure from unauthorized access to more complex duties like restraining violent patientsAbility to emotionally support patients, remain calm and professional, and use good interpersonal skills to defuse volatile situationsUnderstand and implement individual treatment plans, record patient behavior and provide a safe, supportive environment for the patientsProvide direct support as needed to the Medical and Clinical staff for patients in the facility or on supervised tripsMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMust be 21 years of age or olderLevel one fingerprint clearance card or ability to obtain one upon 60 days of hire2+ years of experience in face-to-face client based interaction workA passion for working in behavioral health and directly with the substance abuse populationA heightened sensitivity and compassion when working with our clientsAbility to provide judgment-free care to allAbility to practice good judgment and effective problem solving skillsEffective communicator and strong team playerAbility to maintain a positive and professional dispositionVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasmPreferred QualificationsExperience working in behavioral healthAssociate''s Degree in Psychology, Nursing, Behavioral Health, or related subjectsCPR, CPI, Fingerprint Clearance CardPowered by JazzHR
