Job SummarySupport students and guests with disabilities by providing administrative support, coordination, and day-to-day management to the Office of Accessibility Resource & Services.Responsibilities* Serve students and guests with disabilities in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, by providing administrative support, coordination, and day-to-day management to the Office of Accessibility Resource & Services (OARS):* Serve as the front face of OARS by welcoming students, staff, faculty, and guests. Manage office space, phones, and general email inbox.* Organize and manage the day-to-day office activities including: coordinating communications, maintaining OARS team calendar, scheduling appointments, maintaining office budget, ordering equipment and supplies, and monitoring expenses.* Manage the process of student registration paperwork and ensure that documentation meets guidelines.* Conduct meetings with prospective Bethel students interested in OARS as a part of the recruitment and enrollment process.* Answer general questions regarding OARS for Bethel community members and guests.* Partner with faculty and staff to coordinate academic accommodations including alternate text, contacting publishers for text, hiring sign language interpreters, providing closed captioning services, transcriptions, note taking services, and assistive technology.* Partner across campus to facilitate accommodations, such as managing dietary accommodations with Sodexo services, parking accommodations with the Office of Security & Safety, and housing accommodations with Residence Life.* Collect and maintain institutional data for reports and management information including OARS website and AIM portal.* Provide backup support to the testing center coordinator and undergrad testing center.* Advise and support the Disability Awareness Group (DAG).* Accurately prepare, proofread, and format documents as needed by team.Required Skills* Must be an excellent communicator, detail-oriented, highly proficient with the use of various technologies, organized, and able to professionally handle confidential information.* Fluent knowledge of Google apps (i.e. Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) and Microsoft Office Suite* Experience working with students with disabilities.* Demonstrated competency, sensitivity, and experience working with individuals from diverse socioeconomic, ethnic, academic, and cultural backgrounds.* Individual is expected to interact in a professional and confidential manner, possess effective problem solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.Required Experience2+ years of related experience.Required EducationPost high school training required; Associates Degree or a four year degree preferred.Additional InformationMain office hours at 9am-4pm.40 hours a week for 10 months of the year (August-May).20 hours a week for 2 months of the year (June-July).Bethel seeks to recruit, retain, develop, and support a diverse workforce who contributes to our educational and Christ-centered mission.
