Nursing Assistant Oncology Unit -2 West Per-Diem Days Req : 0000085169 Category: Nurses Aide Status: Per Diem Shift: Day Facility: Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center Location: Oncology Unit - 2 West, 94 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039 JOB SUMMARY: Provides basic, direct patient care, taking into account specific needs as related to patient s age. Assumes responsibility for care of patients and functions as a member of the health care team, taking direction and guidance from Registered Nurse. All care is provided in compliance with and according to department policy/procedure and Standards of Care. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Participates in assessment of patient needs and communication with the health care team. Participates in staff, patient and/or family education to a degree consistent with personal knowledge base. Participates in unit Quality Improvement activities. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care. EDUCATION: High School Diploma REQUIREMENTS: Previous Nursing Assistant experience and/or successful completion of two Registered Nurse accredited clinical courses and/or completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program preferred.Certified in phlebotomy.Ability to read, write and speak English.Effective communication skills and basic math skills.BLS certification required through American Heart Association. Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.
