Security Officer

This position is weekend nights and a shift during the week or will consider every weekend Saturday, Sunday.DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONThe Primary Function of a Security Guard at Fairview Hospital is to perform varied and specified tasks during designated times relating directly to the observation and documentation that all campus facilities, property and personnel are safe, secure and in accordance with developed policies and procedures of Fairview Hospital and the Safety & Security Department.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)Experience:Security Officer, Correctional Officer, Military Experience/Military Police Officer, Police Officer or other related experience.Education and Training:High School Diploma or equivalent (GED), Associates Degree or higher in criminal justice is preferred.License, Certification & Registration:Driver - Drivers License.De-escalation training within six months of accepting positionCPR within 6 months of accepting positionDOT Medical Card preferred.Other Requirements:Ability to speak, read and write the English language in an understandable manner. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Strong verbal communication and documentation skills. Demonstrated ability to assess potentially violent situations and safely restrain patients and/or visitors when needed. Must be able to react calmly and quickly to diffuse unpredictable situations that may involve physical confrontation.
