Surgery will provide properly trained associates to meet the individual needs of our surgical patients. Staffing, including perioperative associates and anesthesia providers, is based on the daily schedule; patient needs; OR suite: equipment; supply; and instrument availability and percentage of staff necessary for each shift.Associate schedules may change temporarily as patient care needs change.Surgical Services leadership includes the Director of Surgical Services, three (3) Clinical Managers in PAT/OPS, Surgery and PACU; one (1) Operations Manager; one (1) Manager in Central Sterile Processing; multiple clinical Coordinators & charge Nurses as appropriate; and individual service line charge nurses. In addition there is one dedicated nurse educator, multiple RN staff nurses, Certified Surgical Technologists, Certified and non Certified Instrument Room Technicians, Transporters and Surgery Schedulers.The Surgery Department consists of fourteen (14) major operating rooms and one (1) cysto room. Inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures are performed in the surgery suites area. Patients are brought to the Pre-Op Holding Area for interview, assessment, and preparation for surgery and then are taken into surgery suites. A hybrid OR suite will be operational in the Fall 22.The type of surgical procedures performed in the surgical suites includes, but not limited to: general surgery, thoracic and cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, ear, nose and throat/oral surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, and laser surgery.At Providence, our associates are the core of what keeps our ministry thriving. What You Will Do: Direct the development and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies for Surgical Services.Develop departmental goals, plans and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.Plan, organize and direct all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.Prepare budgets and ensure compliance with allocated funding. Coordinate and direct internal/external audits.Direct and evaluate all clinical activities, including care plan development, service level determination, and complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives.Work collaboratively with physicians, administration and directors to develop streamlined operations where equipment, supplies and staff are utilized efficiently and resourcefully.Remove obstacles to achieving clinical quality, service excellence and financial effectiveness targets. What You Will Need: License/Certification/Registration:Licensed Clinical Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing required.Education:Bachelor''s degree in nursing or diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.Master''s degree or combination of Bachelor''s degree and experience preferred.Work Experience:5 years of experience required.10 years of experience preferred.2 years of leadership or management experience required.5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
