Terran Orbital is seeking a motivated and experienced Facilities HVAC Technician at our Irvine, CA location. Terran Orbital is a leading worldwide provider of nanosatellite and microsatellite vehicles, services, and solutions to Commercial and Government customers. The Facilities HVAC Technician, maintains and oversees a company''s buildings, systems and equipment to ensure that the workspace and operations are safe and highly functional and efficient. Their duties include assisting in developing scope and both self-performing and managing the execution of service contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations and assisting in the coordination of renovations and updates. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Managing, Scheduling and Performing HVAC maintenance at assigned facilities for clean rooms, office building and manufacturing. 2-3 locations in the Irvine, CA area. Respond to daily maintenance needs related to temperature, humidity, and HEPA Filtration. Ensure through daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, checks that the HVAC equipment is in top condition and preforming as prescribed by the manufacture''s recommendations cost effectively. Make repairs as needed including but not limited to replacing compressors, capacitors, contactor tips, fan motors, and circuit boards. Make informed recommendations on replacing unserviceable or old equipment. Monitor all assigned HVAC units through the BMS system and adjust as necessary. Preform load calculations and make needed system adjustments. Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with supervisors, internal staff, and outside vendors with guidance and direction from Sr. Facilities Manager. Assist the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor in the proper storage and disposal of refrigerants and other chemicals and waste related to HVAC. Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as completing maintenance tickets, through the issuance and performance of work tickets relative to hot/cold calls and equipment performance issues. Self-perform corrections and understand when to engage and escalate to appropriate vendor for repair/restoration of services. Creating project and operational reports for progress on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff. Assisting on construction projects and contractor oversight as needed within assigned facilities. Collaborating with Sr. Facility Manager and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs Other duties as assigned Requirements Current 608 or 609 certification is required Candidate should have 3-5 related years of experience in building maintenance roles. Must have a background in plumbing, HVAC, general repair, or professional/industrial manufacturing environments. Technical degree and/or certifications and training commensurate with the duties described. OSHA, Environmental and forklift operational cert a plus Mechanical skills and strong knowledge of electrical/mechanical building systems for operational performance areas described previously. Proficiency with facilities management tools (i.e., CMMS or equivalent). Working and usage of project management tools, MS office tools to include Excel, Outlook and Word a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak at all levels of team members, guests, and vendors. Great time management, organization and prioritization abilities Keen attention to detail and efficient problem-solving skills Candidate should have 3-5 related years of experience in building maintenance roles. Candidate must have a background in plumbing, HVAC, general repair or professional/industrial manufacturing environments. Perceptive of their surroundings and can identify the aspects of a company''s facilities that need immediate attention and areas that need to be planned longer term. They listen to the needs of a building''s occupants and report requests and suggestions to supervisor. Possess strong sense of urgency and do the right things first, taking the initiative to resolve them as quickly as possible. They are excellent at prioritizing, planning, managing and scheduling multiple types of services in accordance with the book of work identified.
