SALES MERCHANDISER Job Description for a Dietz & Watson Sales MerchandiserThe Dietz & Watson Sales Merchandisers'' main job function is to optimize sales and create brand awareness in a retail deli setting. A Sales Merchandiser should have the knowledge of our products as it relates to the industry.The responsibilities of a Dietz & Watson Merchandiser are listed below but not limited to:Consistently provide coverage to all stores within assigned territory based on store rankingMake regular store visits documenting all concerns/problems (i.e. shortages, equipment problems, ordering issues, etc.) and addressing these concerns in a timely mannerBuild and maintain customer relationships by displaying high-level customer service techniques to deli managers, employees, and store customersPossess the knowledge and ability to both create and market Dietz & Watson programsTraining of all new store deli hires on the merits of Dietz & Watson and refresh training and best practices when neededCommunicate any information deemed necessary to Merchandiser Manager (i.e. grand openings, store closing, etc.)Communicate D&W product knowledge and understand industry competitionGet to know customer base and understand motivation and sales driversSafely operate a deli slicerSet up deli cases and appropriately rotate deli productAssemble necessary equipment to use in the setting of casesBuild and maintain marketing displays using Dietz & Watson Point of Sale (POS)Check date codes and out-of-stocksNeeds to be a self-starter, work in a team environment and or with little or no supervisionComplete all reports as necessary including store surveysUtilizing the monthly sales reports to achieve 100% distributionMonitor and explore opportunities for sales growth w/Merchandiser ManagerWork with management to gage/forecast product ordering needs/inventory levelsUnderstand and execute schematics/planogramsMaintain a clean and sanitary work environmentPerform special projects outside of assigned territory
