Quad Lomira is currently hiring a Press Department Manager. The Department Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the distribution in a particular plant(s) and performs duties to ensure its success. The role of distribution is to enhance the overall competitive efficiency of the company by the timely delivery of materials and products in a safe and cost-effective manner. This efficiency will be created by minimizing process variations and developing innovative delivery methods.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Business Monitoring. Responsible for the overall performance and profitability of our business. Works to enhance the overall competitive efficiency of the company by the timely delivery of materials and products to internal and external customers. Develops and manages Key Performance Indicators. Department Overview. Sets goals for the department''s future in both the short and long term and works with teams to reach them. Department includes Paper, Recycling, QPS, Freight, and Inventory Control. Ability to be flexible and manage an environment that works days, nights, and weekends. Safety. Responsible for the teaching, following, and enforcement of all safety regulations and policies. Works with the safety department on any areas of concern. Strategy. Works with the Operations Director and the Plant Director to establish future direction and profitability goals for the continued success of the plant. Works with internal business partners, vendors, and suppliers to develop ideas, reduce costs and improve performance in the business unit. Ability to adapt the needs of the department to an ever-changing business environment. Development and Education. Participates in LEAN training and activities, maintains a high degree of technical knowledge of our capabilities teaches classes, trains and develops employees, and works with business partners on educational materials and training process. Strives for and seeks out opportunities for personal development. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis Education: Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Posses the following: Good communication skills, conflict resolution, the ability to work with people, effective leadership skills, and proven process improvement experience. Ability to quickly adapt to rapidly changing situations, production schedules, and shipping procedures. Proven training and employee development skills with a strong emphasis on team building. Must be able to work occasional weekends, maintain "on-call" status, and travel when required.
