Ascend Learning is headquartered in Burlington, MA with additional office locations and remote workers in cities across the U.S. and in the U.K.Ascend Learning Healthcare is searching for a Director of Marketing for our Health Sciences segment, who possesses strong product marketing expertise, a demonstrated ability to create, communicate and capture customer value, an entrepreneurial mindset and ownership attitude. If you enjoy diving deep into your category and knowing your target audience as real people (and not just someone who happens to buy your stuff), and delivering relevant, insightful marketing strategies that drive our business forward, this role could be for you.Reporting to Ascend Learning''s Healthcare Chief Marketing Officer, the ideal candidate will have a history of developing targeted strategies for integrated marketing plans & programs, embedding voice-of-customer throughout the organization, using analysis and insights while building/driving disciplined marketing process rigor, and spearheading marketing campaigns to generate impact. This person needs to be a creative/critical thinker, a transformer, a curious self-starter, an innovator, a leader, a collaborator, and a brand ambassador at heart.ResponsibilitiesOverall functional responsibility for market insight, product marketing, brand marketing, multi-channel demand generation and b2c/eCommerce.Contribute as a member of the segment''s leadership team and to the segment''s strategic plan including an emphasis on growth and innovation strategies.Lead the planning and execution of optimal go-to-market strategies.Represent the voice of the customer by listening, analyzing customer needs, staying ahead of the rapidly evolving market landscape, and keeping tabs on competitors to inform positioning, competitive differentiation, and commercial strategy.Lead the development of compelling and persuasive foundational differentiated positioning, articulating buyer-specific value propositions.Lead the planning and execution of cross-functional product launches.Partner with sales leadership to enable sales teams with the tools and training to drive results.Collaborate to drive alignment across product, sales, customer success and marketing to define appropriate strategy and go-to-market activities.Measure marketing results based on impact on revenue, customer engagement andScale the marketing team and lead, inspire, and cultivate the development of team members; seek to constantly remove roadblocks and strengthen capabilities.Skills and AbilitiesCross-functional collaboration competence; ability to adapt to effectively work with wide range of functions and stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to use marketing insights to meaningfully guide and influence the cross-functional growth strategy of a businessAbility to personally own key projects and balance hands-on involvement with team empowerment and delegationResourceful, flexible, adaptable, and able to effectively deal with ambiguitySuperb written communication skills - including strong marketing writing and editing abilitiesAbility to tell compelling stories and present with confidence to a broad range of audiencesOrganized and process-drivenStrong analytical and quantitative skills ability to synthesize large amounts of data into coherent recommendationsHighly effective listening and critical thinking skills with deep demonstrated commitment to understanding customer needsEducation & Experience10+ years of experience in marketing leadership roles with progressive responsibilityProduct marketing experience, demonstrated management of multi-channel demand generation / lead generation campaigns and initiativesSpecific experience marketing to healthcare and/or higher education segments a plusExperience hiring and developing talented marketers and building highly effective teams Budget management and experience managing outside consultants, agencies, freelancers, and service providersBachelor''s degree required, MBA a plusExperience with Pragmatic Marketing framework a plusCandidates should be aware that Ascend Learning currently maintains a policy requiring all employees to be fully vaccinated.
