Job DescriptionThe primary role of the Cash Application Specialist is to apply payments to the customer''s account(s) with a high degree of productivity and accuracy within the established goals as well as managing cash department processes. The Cash Application Specialist will play a central role in handling specialty customer payment and complex account reconciliation. The Cash Application Specialist has access to and utilizes proprietary or confidential data requiring adherence to company information security and PCI compliance guidelines. The Cash Application Specialist is often required to interact outside of their department or with customers directly and is responsible for maintaining exceptional customer interactions as it relates to cash posting.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Quickly and accurately post customer receipts that are in unapplied status, which arrive via store collections, lockbox, Credit Card, ACH/EFT, scanner, remote cash deposits and wires. Research and solve complex problems related to payment application through account reconciliation while providing feedback to those processes to prevent similar errors in the futureCommunicate with customers regarding payment application details when the remittance information is not available.Understand when, to whom and how to escalate issues to drive resolutionMinimize losses due to customer payment plete cases timely assigned from the Field Operations and Commercial Sales Teams as well as customers directly regarding payment application discrepancies. Share best practices where appropriate.Resolve unidentified cash, outstanding clears, and on-account credits/debits.Adjust store over/short cash entry to correct store cash drawer.Enter approved special billing, adjustments, and write-offs.Manage application of Customer NSFsPerform all 3rd part agency and leasing vendor cash applicationBe actively involved in department continuous improvement projects by identifying improvement opportunities, working on a project team, or leading a projectEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
