The Maintenance Mechanic position would include maintaining optimum functionality for all plant equipment and systems by performing inspections, completing predictive and preventive maintenance measures, and repairing and modifying equipment and systems with the use of a variety of hand tools and power tools. Maintenance Mechanics also identify follow-up work required, work to improve the condition of all facility departments, work as a team member with a positive attitude, help promote and communicate maintenance and reliability to the organization, and perform other duties including housekeeping, attending safety training, and attending communication meetings. Maintain a food safe work environment by cleaning up spills and maintaining hygenic work conditions. Comply with all GMP, safety, sanitation and any other plant rules as established by the company. Follow all Food Safety (HACCP), & GMPs policies Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer. Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility. High school diploma/GED Basic computer skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Experience and ability to work independently and as part of a team to accomplish goals Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 55lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodation Ability to work overtime including holidays, nights, weekends, or different shifts with advance notice Ability to execute assignments in a timely manner with minimal supervision Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written) Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above) Ability to work in confined spaces Preferred Qualifications 2-year technical degree in industrial mechanical discipline 3+ years'' experience in maintenance Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement, including lean six sigma Experience in the food and beverage industry Experience with HVAC equipment including chillers, cooling towers, boilers, and air compressors Experience in MIG/TIG welding Ability to utilize and operate a site related CMMS system.
