This position reports to the Director of Accounting and will work to implement inventory and manufacturing related accounting policies, develop and streamline inventory and manufacturing operations, and act as a key finance business partner to the manufacturing operations this role, the Accounting Manager will be heavily involved in implementing new procedures, cost accounting operations and internal controls and continually look for ways to improve existing processes in inventory operations. This role will collaborate with internal teams including, but not limited to, FP&A, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Information Technology to advocate best practices. A strong predictor for success will be evident in a candidate who is accustomed to interfacing with both manufacturing and operations teams, and who has been actively involved in aligning finance objectives with manufacturing objectives. This individual is a strong financial business partner who holds themselves accountable to drive results without being micromanaged.What youll be doing at Zenni: Act as the accounting lead and proactively participate in the ongoing implementation of inventory systems and related integration.Develop, maintain, and update accounting policies, controls and procedures related to inventory cycle.Drive and establish recurring accounting procedures in inventory, including, but not limited to, accounting for variances, valuation, cost allocations, physical inventory, allowances and cut-off during and after pre-launch and post commercialization.Drive period-end accounting close and cross functional coordination to ensure the close is completed timely and accurately.Assist in the forecasting process and provide commentary on variances to forecast.Lead the planning and coordination of annual physical inventory, cycle count, and other alternative procedures over inventory existence across multiple locations as well as related audit coordination.Liaison with internal resources and other third parties in completing significant and complex accounting matters and deliverables related inventory and cost of goods sold allocations. Routine review of purchase orders related to inventoriable costs.Collaborate and interact closely with business partners (whether on-site or remote) as part of information gathering, analysis and communications.Effectively summarize and succinctly communicate inventory accounting matters to various audiences including, but not limited to, senior executives.Maintain quality documentation of internal controls over financial reporting and other required accounting documentation to satisfy internal requirements.Take an active role within the accounting organization to drive goal achievement, while evaluating and recommending other process improvements.Act as an accounting liaison for the operations teams and manage special projects or activities as needed.RequirementsBS in Accounting or college level accounting education and 7+ years of relevant experienceActive Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licenseKnowledge of NetSuite or similar ERP experienceExperience with implementation of new systems or tools and related processesExtensive experience in inventory operations and cost accountingAbility to communicate with impact both in writing and verbally to a wide range of audiences.Strong project management skills with the ability to anticipate events, prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Strong Excel and PC skills)Cost accounting experienceUnderstanding of the financial side of P&L structureBack-end mapping and how that is reflected in the in the financial statementsManufacturing, accounting, cost accounting, as well as financial reporting experienceExperience working with operations and financial teamsBenefitsYour choice of PC or Mac hardware and accessoriesExcellent health benefits that the company pays for and a 401k with company matchAnnual employee eyeglasses stipendGreat Work Life BalanceInteresting projects with opportunities for growth and professional development in a financially stable, successful, growing CompanyLI-EW
