Job DescriptionThe Senior Process Engineer oversees the scaling up of processes for plant operations and their introduction to the manufacturing environment. Responsible for effectively and efficiently supporting function through cleanouts and changeover between products in a multi-use facility.ResponsibilitiesContributing to the project transfer from the R&D lab to the plant by providing a technical assessment of the scalabilityPerform Process Safety Hazard assessment together with other relevant functionsAuthor the Master Batch Record and define the final version of the manufacturing processPerform necessary training with operators with specific process details and safety alertsResponsible for project start-up, process optimization, and process troubleshooting.Ability to lead efforts in reducing cycle times, improving quality, improving batch yields, and reducing overall manufacturing terpreting and organizing process and chemistry information to ensure a successful project outcome.The candidate will have to successfully communicate and interact with operators, analytical and process chemists, quality assurance functions, project managers, and management.Responsible for continuously monitoring and developing existing processes'' cost reduction/technical improvement options to improve plant performance and maintain product viability.QualificationsBS/MS/Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or MS in Chemistry10+ years of process engineering experienceStrong cGMP experience is preferredPreferably has an API Manufacturing backgroundTech transfer and scale-up knowledge (laboratory to plant, process troubleshooting, and process optimization)Working knowledge of reactors, filters, dryers, and centrifuges.Familiarity with pharmaceutical chemical processes - Reactions, Extractions, Distillation, Filtration, Drying, etc., and the related utilitiesExcellent communication skills and leadership skills.
