Equipment ManagerWe are looking for a candidate who is self-motivated, and wants to work for an organization where you can make a significant impact. The successful candidate will be someone with a strong ability to work with maintenance vendors and develop driver relationships. This role is accountable for all maintenance issues relating to truck and trailer equipment which incorporates over $3 million in assets. More importantly, this role is responsible for servicing our drivers by having equipment that is ready to haul freight.Our mission is to build a great place to work. Our office staff supports the driver operation by living our two core values: Safety and What Drives You.As an Equipment Manager, you will:Scheduling of PM service to ensure annual trailer inspections are complete.Schedule repair to equipmentManage emergency breakdowns with vendors and drivers for both tractor and terface with maintenance vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.Maintain log of all equipment repairs, communicate with corporate office Coach and mentor drivers to ensure key factors are met, i.e. MPG, OOR, proper maintenance of new stilling a safety culture consistent with our company core values and enforcing company standards/rules regarding safety.24/7 on call for emergency breakdownsOversee the operation, installation, and upgrades to In-Cab Communication teract with operations on a daily basis with known issues/concerns.Act as a liaison between office and drivers, complete arrangements for 4-quarterly safety meetings, distribute registrations, ins. cards, decals as needed.Monitor repair invoices for discrepancies, accuracy, and legitimacy.Manage local vendor relationships with integrityInteract with customers regarding equipment needs, urgencies and daily changes. Perform yard checks on property of available equipment, staged loads, etc.Projects by request by Director of Maintenance and other roles at PTIThe candidate must be a team player yet be able to work independently, problem solving, excellent communication skills, and organizational and analytical skills. Must be proficient in analyzing and solving problems plus be able to multitask and manage critical situations effectively. High stress tolerance is also critical.Skills Required for Success:Decisiveness: Have the ability to put things into perspective, weigh all your options, assess all relevant information and anticipate the consequences, good and bad.
