Description$20 hrFunction/DepartmentAerospace Containers/CartsPosition Purpose:The Inspector/Certified Repairman will have final authority for the release, as airworthy, of the units the repair station is rated to repair and maintain. He/She will be appropriately certificated under 14 CFR Part 65. This role will also be performing repairs as needed and is a working position.Major/Key AccountabilitiesThe Chief Inspectors/Certified Repairman key roles include, but are not limited to:Assuming his/her delegated duties in accordance with the pertinent Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR), manufacturers technical data and the Repair Station ManualPlanning and layout of details for approved inspection standards, methods and procedures in compliance with all pertinent Federal Aviation Regulations, manufacturer specifications and customer requirementsProviding for the proper training of repair station personnel and maintaining training records in accordance with approved training programMaking certain that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work and that the proper inspection records, reports and forms used by the repair station are properly executed prior to the release of products for return to serviceMaintaining a current file of the pertinent Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR), Airworthiness Directives, Advisory Circulars and all other applicable published materialsAssuring that all controlled copies of the Combination Manual and other required documents, issued to the repair station personnel, are maintained in a current statusAssuring that the personnel do quality work and adhere to the internal audit procedure and programMaintaining the premises of the repair station in a clean and orderly mannerConducting and/or overseeing the Preliminary, Hidden Damage, In-Progress and Final Inspections of articles processed by the repair station and assure proper recording of the results as detailed in the Repair Station ManualDetermining the final acceptance of all incoming materials; including new parts, supplies and the airworthiness of any item on which work has been performed by an outside contractorAssuring that rejected and unserviceable parts are prominently identified, tagged and properly disposed of in order to prevent their useSubmitting reports of defects or un-airworthy condition the Service Difficulty Reports in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145.221Maintain files of completed work orders and inspection forms in such a manner that the file pertaining to a specific item repaired can be readily located for reviewPosting any applicable Airworthiness Directives on the repair area bulletin boardAssure calibration of tools and devices and specified records of calibrations are kept currentMaintaining the shelf life program in accordance with QCM Section 1.30Assisting in other required backup positions identified within the Repair Station Manual and Quality Control ManualMeasures:The measures and indicators that show success in this role are:Management ReviewsSafety recordActual v budget repairsAmount of reworkAudit findings both internal and externalNo customer queries regarding inaccurate estimatesNo long term work in progressThird party feedback and lack of errorsClean, tidy work areaHealth and safetyThe Chief Inspector/Certified Repairman is responsible for:Actively promoting a healthy and safe work environmentParticipating in the development, improvement and implementation of workplace safety management systemsKey Contacts:InternalDirect report Facility Manager Works with Technicians and QAExternalFreight forwarding representativesSuppliers and CustomersQualifications:Trade based qualifications preferably in aviation supervisory skillsExperience:Practical experience in a sheet metal workshopSupervisory experienceGeneral computing skills Excel, Word, OutlookProduction flow managementSkills and Knowledge:A general knowledge and comprehension of all applicable rules / regulations, FAA Airworthiness Directives, and the manufacturers'' Maintenance Service Instructions of the articles worked on.Preventative maintenance practicesKnowledge of inventory, logistics systemsCustomer service focusExcellent interpersonal skillsFamiliarity with systems within a production environmentExposure to quality systemsLanguages:EnglishPF_GSE
