This position is for the Dallas Campus, located in Richardson, Texas.Position Summary:This position reports to the Campus Dean on the Dallas Campus. The Department Manager is responsible for the coordination and organization of all administrative and clerical duties within the psychology and counseling programs on the Dallas Campus. The principal duties include but are not limited to:Manage department communication, which includes: department emails, filing, preparing agendas/memos, and ensure website is up to date.Coordinate catering for luncheons and other meetings.Conduct research, compile data, and prepare information for consideration of Faculty and Department Chairs.Perform general office duties, such as ordering supplies, maintaining records management database systems, and performing basic bookkeeping work including assisting with developing the department budgetProcess instructor compensation on a term-by-term basis.Review operating practices and procedures to determine whether improvements can be made in areas such as workflow, reporting procedures, or expenditures.Work with Student Finance, Student Services, and other departments as needed to ensure the services and resources provided to students are appropriately delivered and managed.Work with Human Resources in the hiring, on-boarding & contract processes of new and returning faculty.Collaborate with Student Services and the Registrar''s Office to ensure students are best supported with institutional policies and procedures.Develop and track course scheduling, instructor assignments and student records.Assist instructors with gathering course/workshop materials including books, articles, tests, and assessments.Assist with and track department faculty workloads.Travel Requirements:Some travel required (e.g., attending scheduled residencies/commencement)Position Qualifications and Skills:A Bachelor''s degree is preferred with a minimum of 1 year experience. Higher Education industry experience a plus).Proficient in Microsoft Office - specifically in Excel, Word, and Outlook.Experience with developing and managing budgets.Excellent communication, team-building, human relations skills, and writing skills.Proactive; be a problem solver not a problem spotterThrives in a team-oriented environment that emphasizes collaboration and personal accountability.Disclaimer:The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
