Job Description

This position is remote and can sit anywhere in the US, although cities with an RSM office are preferred. Travel required for team meetings, working sessions and training activities RSM is seeking a dynamic Professional Practice Accounting Standards Group and Learning & Professional Development Manager to join our National Professional Standards Group (NPSG). This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about accounting, has the desire to work with other high performing professionals, and desires a career serving as a Learning & Professional Development resource for the audit practice. The NSPG Curriculum Team works with the National Learning & Professional Development Group to advance a culture of continuous self-directed development where high quality, relevant learning opportunities are available where you need it when you need it. We develop core competencies in our people that are essential to being First Choice Advisors in Audit. The Professional Practice Accounting Standards Group and Learning & Professional Development Manager will facilitate the identification and development of learning-related business initiatives. This includes working closely with the other group leaders, the Audit Learning Leader and members of Accounting Standards Group (ASG) to determine necessary learning needs, develop quality content, and think of innovative ways to deliver it. The Professional Practice Accounting Standards Group and Learning & Professional Development Manager would also act as a ASG Technical Accounting Guidance Specialist by writing and (or) editing technical accounting content for both internal and external audiences, including articles, white papers, accounting guides and comment letters. The Professional Practice Accounting Standards Group and Learning & Professional Development Manager works closely with other members of ASG, particularly the Lead subject matter experts and Accounting Policy Leader. Lead ASG learning needs assessments, drive overall NPSG learning strategy downstream, and serve as a knowledgeable learning resource for the team Serve as the main point of contact for ASG on learning needs to the Audit Learning Leader and LPD contacts as needed Assist in the implementation of learning strategy in courses and learning elements owned and delivered by ASG Provide course development, technical reviews, instructional design support, and instruct as necessary Identify opportunities for and facilitate collaboration on coursework that can cross team boundaries Collaborate with other Curriculum Leaders and the Audit Learning Leader in identifying opportunities for growth and improvement in accounting learning Technical Accounting Guidance Write, edit, and (or) publish communications including articles, whitepapers, guides, and comment letters for internal and external audiences. Monitor and report on the standard-setting activities of the FASB, PCC and IASB Collaborate with other members of ASG. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS CPA (Required) Bachelor''s degree (required) TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS Proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel and SharePoint Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills Ability to respond and be adaptable to changing priorities Demonstrates a commitment to continuous development and a passion for sharing new ideas Skill and passion for writing, including: Attention to detail, impressive command of grammar, punctuation, and plain English; and the ability to write about complex issues clearly and simply. Ability to edit content written for various audiences to ensure technical accuracy, while maintaining understandability and alignment with the intended tone. Self-motivated with excellent time-management and organizational skills. Ability to constantly collaborate with and support team members, while also working independently.
