Position Description Are you looking for an opportunity to contribute to the Navy''s surface ship readiness? Serco has a great opportunity for a Maintenance & Modernization Analyst who has experience providing DDG 51 support services to the U.S. Navy in Washington DC. This position will support the DDG 51 Flight III (FLIII) group in NAVSEA 21 and work directly with the PMS 443 Class Platform Sustainment Manager (PSM). You will be part of a dynamic support team that works closely with our NAVSEA customer and other Serco teams to provide support to the DDG 51 FLIII group. In this role, you will: * Assist in collecting and analyzing DDG 51 FLIII maintenance data. * Assist in providing administrative and policy direction concerning overall DDG 51 FLIII program priorities and objectives. * Work with In-Service Engineering Agents (ISEAs), TYCOMs, program Embedded Reps at Fleet Concentration Areas, NAVAIR, and other NAVSEA organizations. * Use Critical Thinking techniques to drill down to the root causes of issues affecting DDG-51 FLIII. * Identify Action Items, associated costs, duration, due dates and historical background to resolve a range of issues affecting FLIII. * Work with NAVSUP and DLA to address supportability issues such as obsolescence, rotatable pools, refurbishment, and potentially modernization. * Work with ILS program personnel to address issues that fall within the ILS realm. * Support the budgeting work of the PSM by capturing and tracking funding data. * Plan, develop, coordinate, and potentially direct (on an ad hoc basis) several small complex projects. * Participate in working groups, program development forums, analytical activities, training, education, Integrated Process Teams (IPTs) and other forums as required to accomplish contract requirements. * Coordinate with SURFMEPP on Class Maintenance Plan candidates, and periodicities for existing push and pull tasks. * Coordinate with Class Advocates to review/discuss issues affecting DDG FLIII * Extract operational data, conduct research and analysis, and present analyses up the Chain of Command, including the Flag and SES levels * Attend meetings, capture minutes & actions, draft written reports, and provide recommendations to the customer. * Demonstrates the ability to populate, maintain, and manipulate data within a Microsoft Excel document. * Demonstrate superior Microsoft Office program skills to develop PowerPoint briefings, Word documents, Excel reports, etc., for clients. * Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the lead Program Manager Representative. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will have: * An Active Secret Clearance is required at time of application. * Eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance and Sponsorship may be considered for specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data. * Clearance must be Active before on-boarding. * Bachelor''s degree plus 5 to 7 years relevant work experience. * In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience. * Experience onboard Navy ships or maintaining ship systems. * Former enlisted or junior officers with Navy shipboard maintenance and modernization experience are encouraged to apply, as are former government service/contractors with Navy shipboard maintenance and modernization experience. Additional desired experience and skills: * Strong oral and written communication skills. * Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. * Ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasking and represent Military and Government leaders at technical meetings.
