The Undersea Technology Analysis Group (UTAG) within SPA supports the Navy and other government organizations with timely and objective capability assessments, technology evaluations, and strategic planning that integrate the technical, operational, programmatic, policy, and business aspects of undersea warfare (USW) and broader Navy issues. SPA has a contingent need for a Senior Electrical Engineer. Work is expected to begin in September of 2022. Responsibilities SPA is seeking a dedicated Senior Electrical Engineer to directly support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) Undersea Warfare (USW) Combat Systems Department (Code 25) in Newport, RI. Code 25 is the U.S. Navy''s agent for executing a Cybersecurity Systems Engineering program. This position is contingent upon award in 2022. You will be supporting the design, development, and testing of electrical equipment, components, and systems. You will apply mathematical and engineering principles and methods to electrical system designs. Your responsibilities will include being able to conduct research to produce design solutions, improvements, and new products. You must be able to demonstrate expertise in a variety of the field''s concepts, practices, and procedures to junior engineers. Your services and solutions will support systems and subsystems associated with the following Navy platforms: Los Angeles Class submarines, Columbia Class submarines, Ohio Class submarines, SEAWOLF Class submarines, Virginia Class Submarines, and SSN(X) Next-Generation Attack Submarines. Qualifications Required Qualifications: * Bachelor''s degree or higher * 7+ years of relevant work experience * Eligible to obtain and retain a DoD Secret security clearance Desired Qualifications: * Demonstrated experience working in an acquisition program office environment with documentation, protocols, formats, and deadlines is highly desired * Submarine or NAVSEA undersea weapon system program experience * Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering tools and modeling languages (UML, SysML) or INCOSE Systems Engineering certification or equivalent
