A medical services organization in New York State is currently seeking a new Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC / CASAC-T) for a promising opportunity with their growing staff at one of their facilities in Dutchess County. In this role, the Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC / CASAC-T) will be responsible for assisting the Clinical Director with administrative functions, monitoring the changing needs of the population and program, and assisting in staffing and scheduling of the day-to-day operations of clinical programs.Responsibilities:The Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC / CASAC-T) will:Conduct daily rounds with staff and uses that as a forum for staff supervision and educationAssist the Clinical Director in ensuring that all charting is complete, timely and accurate by completing chart reviews on a regular basisMaintain daily and weekly staff schedule, patient and work assignments, vacation approval, and time and attendance monitoringReport clinical/departmental problems, concerns, documentation deficiencies, solutions, recommendations, and staffing needs to the Clinical DirectorAssist the Clinical Director in conducting investigations of patient/staff concerns especially related to patient safety issuesDesign, develop and implement an ongoing training curriculumProvide biweekly supervision and performance appraisalsMaintain records of rounds, staff meetings, supervisions and evaluationsAssist the Clinical Director in the overall function of the department and provide coverage in the absence of the Clinical DirectorPerform other assignments, as delegated or requiredQualifications:1+ year of relevant work experienceBachelor''s and/or Master''s DegreeNYS Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC and/or CASAC-T)Experience working with the Controlled Substance Abuse, Substance Abuse, and/or Chemically Dependent populationSolid assessment and documentation skillsGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong attention to detailHighly organized
