Position: Manager of Student Affairs Location: Remote Type: Full-Time Start Date: Summer 2022 Reporting to the Director of Student Affairs, the Manager of Student Affairs supports the Student Affairs team and other teams that serve the student experience vision of Relay GSE. The primary mission of the Manager of Student Affairs is to maintain and improve the quality of the student experience at Relay by working closely with the Office of Student Affairs, Student Services Team, the Registrar''s Office, and other constituents. The Manager of Student Affairs collaborates with the Director of Student Affairs on strategic planning, intervention, and assessment and with State & Executive Directors on the enhancement/design/implementation of existing and new programs in all areas. Primary Responsibilities Support the Director of Student Affairs, Student and Alumni Engagement and Support with: ensuring that systems and technology are able to meet the needs of all students for the coming academic year. implementing initiatives that serve and support students and alumni in alignment with the student experience vision of the institution. organizing committee meetings including determining the time and place and drafting and delivering correspondence such as agendas, minutes, and notes. With guidance from their manager, collaborate with internal teams to ensure a high quality experience for students: Certification Team Teacher Preparation Team Registrar Office Student Financial Services State and Executive Directors Student Support Team Americorps Manager Director of Student Affairs Research Team Prospective Team Project Implementation Team Participate in student case management for complex student cases and work with the legal team for escalated cases. Use the support structures set by the Student Affairs team & with input from their manager, serve as an ombudsman for students: research data and best practices to provide high-quality support to graduate students e.g. the writing center host weekly office hours and relevant opportunities to engage with students who desire/require support from student affairs support students and campuses directly in times of crisis Co-design and implement engagement opportunities that benefit both currently enrolled students and alumni with support from manager Collaborate with the research team to gather and analyze data as it pertains to student and alumni engagement and experience Manage large scale alumni communications and opt out lists Manage Relay Connect and Newsletters Manage all graduate student and alumni-related social media platforms Collaborate with the marketing team to create content and content calendar for social media platforms Creates and manages the annual calendar of activities such as special events, fundraising initiatives, and similar projects. Collaborate with manager to create vision (or strategy) and lead the Alumni and Student Advisory Committee Engage and invest current students and alumni in the Student and Alumni Advisory Council Serve as the Relay advisor for the Student and Alumni Advisory Council Institutional Leadership & Scholarship Collaborate with manager and team to continuously improve student and alumni support, services, and policies. Participate in the development and implementation of operational policies, procedures that pertain to students and alumni Oversee the development, distribution, and maintenance of literature and web-based information regarding student and alumni support and engagement activities. QUALIFICATIONS First and foremost, the Manager of Student Affairs must share the Relay community''s commitment to working together to improve student growth and achievement through phenomenal teacher preparation grounded in diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism. This includes providing teacher preparation programs that set novice teachers up to succeed in the classroom from day one; leadership programs that train new and veteran school and district leaders to best serve their school communities; and teacher-facing professional education that provides ongoing learning to educators. Additionally, for this position we''re looking for candidates that possess a combination of the following skills: Bachelor''s degree required. Three or more years experience in education, college student services or a related field. Strong organization and time management skills. Knowledge of CAS (Council for the Advancement of Standards) professional standards, and Federal guidelines affecting students and faculty (i.e. FERPA) Experience working with a student information system (e.g. SIS, Canvas, Nexus, etc.) . Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written required. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and electronic mail required. COMPENSATION Relay''s compensation philosophy is to pay competitively for the education nonprofit market and ensure equity across the institution. Starting compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors including the new hire''s qualifications and their region''s cost of labor. The starting salary range for this role is $55,000 to $70,000. The hired candidate can expect to be placed within this range based on their prior experience, as well as the cost of labor for the region they live in. New hires typically are not eligible for a salary at the high end of this range if they live in a region with a low or medium cost of labor. Lastly, Relay is striving towards internal pay equity throughout our organization. Because of this, we do not negotiate salary offers. Relay offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
