Come join our team today!JOB SUMMARYJoin a fast pace team and make a difference. The Progressive Care Unit is a 24-bed unit offering intermediate and critical care services. The PCU nurse is skilled at monitoring and assessing acutely ill patients, managing multiple medications and assessing for complications, monitoring critical vital signs, and detecting any acute changes in condition. Patient populations include those with severe illness and conditions such as sepsis, respiratory distress, heart disease, heart failure, neurological disorders, acute renal failure, hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes, vascular procedures, and diabetic ketoacidosis.Registered nurses in the PCU become proficient in the management of acutely ill patients, using critical thinking processes, and managing advanced treatment and monitoring modalities. Management of comprehensive monitoring and treatment modalities include cardiac monitoring, non-invasive positive pressure ventilation, arterial lines, and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring.This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital.
