Software Engineer Principal with Security Clearance

Description JOB DESCRIPTION: SAIC seeks a principle level Software Systems Engineer to provide technical advisory support to the US Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC). This position can be located in Denver Co. or Sunnyvale Ca, Remote work is available for both locations. SSC acquires Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Weather systems to support Military and Intelligence users. Spacecraft systems engineering and systems development/test/integration experience is required. Knowledge of a major US government satellite program is desired. The successful candidate will monitor the prime contractor and its subcontractors on the execution of their contract. The candidate will monitor the execution of the systems engineering processes the USAF Space Force OPIR development, production, sustainment, and future programs to ensure compliance with the technical requirements on contract and all the mission assurance practices. The candidate will evaluate new contract solicitations and monitor program technical execution against the Systems Engineering Plan, Integrated Master Plan, Integrated Master Schedule, and evaluate CDRLs for compliance with applicable SC, Air Force Space Command, Headquarters Space Force and DoD policies, guidance, and strategy, technical approach and requirements, acquisition policy and guidance, milestones, forecasts, and risk assessment. Qualifications TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Requirements: - Spacecraft Systems Engineering - Software development experience - Familiarity with GITLAB; confluence; slack; JIRA; and/or Agile processes and metrics - Ability to work on a virtual team - Ability to work well with a different levels of management from interns, senior scientists, directors, Gov''t personnel and contractors - Ability to self-direct with conflicting priorities - Ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms -Must have a Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI. Desired Experience - Familiar with Air Force/mil standard specs and libraries - C++ and python programing - Spacecraft conops - Cyber Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
