Lab Technician/ Desktop support Engineer

Who are we looking for? The Hi-tech Business Unit at Mphasis is currently seeking a Lead Lab Tech with proven expertise in cross-site support of R&D and Data Center labs in multiple regions . Based in Houston, TX, this position will provide opportunity to work for one of our largest client accounts. Technical Skills:Bachelor''s degree with 5-6 years'' experienceHighly familiar with Enterprise Rack and Tower systems. Experience with ProLiant Systems is preferredExpertise with Driver and Firmware upgrade on data center components (ex. ROM, CPLD, iLO etc.)Proficient in reconfiguring hardware correctly, especially CPUs.Good understanding of Windows, Linux, VMware and how to configure storage and network I/O cards under these OSes.Basic network design, installation, configuration including switches, routers, and firewallsKnowledge of and experience with layers 1-3 on OSI network stackTroubleshooting, switch configuration, port assignments, cable changesSome experience on any type of lab reservation system will be a plus.Should be able to lift 30lbs and rack/stack hardware from equipment racksAbility to recognize and create diagrams the server/network topologyFamiliar with Industry standard virtualization i.e., VMware, Hyper-VPrior experience of managing a team of 2-3 junior members. - provided by Dice
