Visit for more information.We are currently seeking a qualified Petrophysicist to work for Onshore Reservoir & Carbon Management (ORCM) in Houston, Texas. The secret of our success has and will continue to be our people.Oxy''s Petrophysicists support logging operations, reservoir studies, and performance evaluations focusing on efforts to optimize operations and recovery, aligning with both petrophysical function and the Business Unit''s reservoir management teams. The selected individual will be part of a Petrophysics team reporting to the ORCM Director of Petrophysics, embedded within the BUs Subsurface Technology organization. Applicant must be a self-starter, capable of working within cross-functional teams and sharing knowledge of petrophysical applications and evaluation processes. Good communication skills are essential, as is the ability to adapt and thrive in a multicultural environment. Must possess a broad petrophysical background and prefer an in-depth knowledge of unconventional reservoir evaluation techniques. Applicant should be capable of providing unsupervised analysis utilizing classical petrophysical techniques including core analysis, open and cased-hole log interpretation application and must be able to mentor less experienced team members. A critical part of the job is maintaining continuity and consistency of technical work, communication, and business objectives with the BU. If you have these credentials and are interested in joining a fast-paced, action-oriented team, please provide your resume.QualificationsBachelor''s degree in Geoscience or Engineering Minimum 8 years of Petrophysical Engineering experience within the oil industryBroad petrophysical background with exposure to siliciclastic, carbonate, and unconventional reservoir systems Currency with the latest industry tools and petrophysical interpretation techniques.Demonstrated ability to design open-hole, LWD, and cased-hole logging programs in complex reservoir systems, maximizing data acquisition and efficiency, while ensuring work is carried out professionally and in compliance with HES requirementsFamiliarity with methods of core retrieval, handling, and competent in the design of conventional and special core analysis programsComprehensive understanding of core analysis methods, applications and integration including routine and special core analysis tests including relative permeability, geomechanics and velocity testingKnowledgeable in petrophysical and geological analysis with a focus on core-log data integrationExperience with pressure-volume-temperature (PVT) testing and applicationExperience with popular petrophysical software packages (i.e., IP, Recall, Techlog, etc.)Must be a motivated self-starter and positive individual able to work under pressure Must be willing to work in integrated and diverse teams and can interact effectively with geoscientists and reservoir, operations, production, drilling, and facilities engineers.Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.Strong presentation and communication skills. Willingness to coach and mentor junior staffPrograming skills (Phyton, Matlab, etc)Desired QualificationsExperience working with static reservoir modelersExperience in waterfloods and CO2 floods.
