Synthetic Biology Consultant with Security Clearance

Job Number: R0125704 Synthetic Biology ConsultantKey Role: Work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment as a scientific or te chn ical advisor in biomedical sciences in support of the client. Leverage a breadth of expertise to assess te chn ologies across a broad range of applications to work with world-class scientists to drive research efforts forward for the development of advanced biological te chn ologies to support the client''s operations and to improve the readiness of our warfighters. Provide strategic assessments of new te chn ologies to support the organization''s goals, create te chn ical reports, present findings, track te chn ological progress, analyze te chn ology program plans, and perform other related tasks required by the client. Assist with te chn ical program management, program development, and briefing materials for government Research and Development ( R & D ) efforts and deliver high-quality work products to support projects. Interact regularly with clients and present work products to clients. Prioritize deliverables and work independently with little guidance. Basic Qualifications: * 5+ years of experience with research in molecular biology and biochemistry, synthetic biology, or microbiology, including time as a graduate student * Experience with authoring te chn ical papers, reports, or program plans for both te chn ical and non-te chn ical audiences * Ability to display multiple first author contributions to peer-reviewed papers or patents * Ability to explain and present complex scientific concepts to a broad audience * Ability to commute to Arlington, VA * Ability to obtain a security clearance * Doctorate degree Additional Qualifications: * 2+ years of experience with postdoctoral academic or industrial research * Experience in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Human Microbiomes, Metabolic Engineering, and Synthetic Biology * Experience with biosafety and biosecurity * Experience with science and te chn ology policy * Possession of excellent scientific writing skills * Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills * Secret clearance * Doctorate degree in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Microbiology, Genetics, or Biochemistry Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information .
