Registered Nurse- Pediatrics

A health services network in Westchester County is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN), with a Pediatric background, for a promising opportunity with their Night shift staff. In this role, the Pediatric Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing direct nursing care by assessing patients'' needs, performing physical examinations, and taking health history & demographic information.ResponsibilitiesThe Pediatric Nurse (RN) will:Provide planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient careSupervise care, treatment, and services of the patientsDocument the patient''s plan of care using identified nursing diagnosis, expected patient outcomes and appropriate nursing interventionsMaintain confidentiality at all times with patients, medical staff, and co-workersProvide a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment, using empathyPerform interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standardImplement the Physicians'' orders, administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments, procedures and special testsAssess and evaluate patients'' needs for, and responses to, care rendered.Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.Administer prescribed medications, as orderedPerform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:1+ year of experience working with the Pediatric populationGraduate of an accredited School of NursingAssociate''s Degree in NursingCurrent NYS Registered Nurse (RN) licenseBLS certificationSolid assessment, clinical, and documentation skillsPatient orientedGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong attention to detailHighly organizedDesired SkillsBachelor''s Degree in Nursing
