Find your future with us.Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) Customer Support organization is seeking energetic first-line Mechanical and Structural Engineering Managers to lead the Airframe Service Engineering teams in Seal Beach, CA, providing 24/7 support to Boeing commercial airplane customers.This position offers a unique opportunity to lead fast-paced teams working complex technical challenges in support of safety operation and return to service. The Managers will interact with other service engineering and design/specialized engineering teams, field service teams and maintenance teams, Fleet Chief Offices, U.S. and International commercial customers/suppliers, and regulatory agencies. This position requires an individual with excellent communication and relationship-building skills, is comfortable interacting with diverse cultures, and can work on variable shifts.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Position Responsibilities:Manages engineers performing Structural Design and Analysis of Boeing commercial airplanes.Leads a team that performs Airplane Customer Support engineering.Primary duties of the team include customer service interface, repair development, structural analysis, structural damage tolerance analysis, project management, operational safety assessment, and FAA certification.Develops and executes projects and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.Manages, develops, and motivates employees.This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asyleeBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry5+ years of experience with aircraft structural design or analysis engineering1+ years of experience leading an engineering teamAbility to work variable and/or rotating schedule.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Excellent communication and project management skills, along with the ability to make decisions and deliver mitted to finding a way to resolve problems and keep commitments.Previous experience leading or managing in an engineering organization is desired.Experience working structural activities with Boeing airplanes.Experience providing customer support services to airlines.Familiarity with FAA transport airplane structural regulations.ABET accredited engineering course of studyRelocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.Employee Referral Program:This role is eligible for employee referral bonus.Drug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Shift:This position is for 1st Shift.Equal Opportunity Employer:Boeing is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
