We are driven by our mission to promote regional farm diversity and economic stability by the means of organic agricultural methods and the sale of certified organic products.Summary of RoleUnder direction of the Supervisor, Intrastate CDL Driver will be responsible for operating an commercial motor vehicle such as 7-axle Straight Truck, Tractor-Trailer, and 48ft Box Truck in a safe and efficient manner. A CDL Driver''s job function will include performing daily pre/post-trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines and loading and unloading material into and out of the vehicle. This position may also involve various manual tasks, including but not limited to: sweeping and washing trailers, disassembly, cleaning and reassembly of Milk Pump and hoses; lifting, pushing and pulling various objects. This position will be delivering Bulk Milk, Raw Eggs, and Unfinished goods within the Wisconsin State Limits and Intrastate agreement with FMCSA and DOT regulations. This is a safety sensitive position.Essential Duties and Responsibilitieso Conducts pre and post trip vehicle inspections, accurately completes and submits driver logs, inspection records and other required documents.o Performs quality control process steps ensuring satisfactory and sanitary collection, transportation, and unloading of milk. o Interacts frequently with farmers, plant and dairy personnel, supervision, and others in a professional and positive manner which reflects favorably upon CROPP Cooperative.o Identifies and responds to potential and actual exception conditions, taking action to ensure timely and satisfactory resolution. o Follows and complies with applicable Federal and State regulations, CROPP Cooperative policies and best practices including but not limited to safety and biosecurity.o Communicates with supervision and/or shipping locations as required to identify and respond to transportation and delivery exception conditions.o Performs unloading (intake) function as needed.o Must be able to work a variety of schedules and shifts based on business needs including nights, weekends, and holidays. o Using recommended tool and chemicals, follows sanitation procedures in accordance with CROPP''s Quality Assurance standard operating procedures washing truck exterior, tank compartment, equipment, and cab.Additional Duties and Responsibilitieso Drives egg & produce truck, shuttle truck, or acts as driver''s assistant as required.o Other duties as assigned by supervisor.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilitieso Must be at least 18 years old o Must have a HS diploma or equivalento Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver''s License Class A or B with Tanker endorsement o Must possess and maintain current FMCSA Medical Certificate.o Ability to interpret and understand results of official samples. o Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and ability to push/pull objects up to 75 pounds.o Basic math skills including arithmetic; ability to perform and interpret basic calculations related to count, weight, time, rate, and distance.o Critical thinking and decision making skills; able to make effective decisions among primarily known / understood conditions with occasional variables.o Effective collaborative skills; must perform comfortably in group settings. o Must be able to read, write, and understand English.o Verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow instructions and to clearly express ideas in a concise and professional manner.o Strong work ethic with history of good attendance.o Ability to support schedule changes upon short notice.o Ability to work effectively and maintain deadlines.o Capacity for stress in service-oriented environment.
