He/she will oversee plant operations within the established standards and guidelines, aligning with established goals to produce the highest quality product in the most cost effective safe/clean environment using lean manufacturing principals. This position directs and manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities. Supervisory ResponsibilityYesResponsibilitiesAct as a change agent and create a culture of engagement through the development of teams who can operate efficiently, effectively, productively, and cost effectively.Direct and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, lean and HSE functionsImprove shop efficiencies, OTD and cost of quality while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standardsDevelop expense budgets, capital budgets, operating plan metrics and develop methods to track and execute for adherence and accountability to the financial plans.Work directly with department heads to coordinate engineering, purchasing, production and distribution operations.Develop efficiency strategies to ensure the plant meets production goals and standards at minimal manufacturing costs. Manages capital asset maintenance.Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.Responsible for evaluating the performance of all team members and developing improvement plans, where corporates shop floor organization following Lean principals.Provides direction, development and leadership to production itiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.Conducts regular meetings with supervision and workers to ensure the goals of the business are properly communicated and carried out within the day-to-day operations. Actively participates & engages the production team in Lean activities geared to instil employee participation and efficient operationsThis position will develop and implement the strategic direction for improvement continuing to drive operational excellence.Other duties may be assignedQualifications and Required Skills:Bachelor''s Degree from an accredited university in a related field is preferredMinimum of five years plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment requiredStrong experience working in manufacturing six sigma/lean/continuous improvement environments preferred.Previous experience supervising or working with fabrication, machining and assembly functions extremely important for this role. Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch.Work in a non-climate-controlled production shop environment with minimal exposure to noise and dust.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, far vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lens.
