The Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining proper controls for all financial operations in accordance as outlined by the Shaner Finance and Auditing Departments.Essential Functions: (Include the following. Other job related duties may be assigned.) • Maintain complete knowledge of, and comply with all Shaner and hotel/departmental policies and procedures. • Maintain complete understanding of Shaner internal audit procedure, facilitate yearly audit with internal auditors and implement corrective action on all reported deficiencies. Conduct self-audits as needed, and correct any deficiencies. • Participate in month-end recording of F&B inventories; every month, with Executive Chef, for food inventory and once per quarter, with F&B Director, for beverage inventory. • Ensure all other department inventories (linen, gift shop, etc.) are completed in a timely manner according to Shaner policy. • Maintain complete working knowledge of Night Audit procedures and provide training to employees as needed. • Ensure all daily, weekly, and month-end reports are completed to standards, in a timely manner according to corporate policy. • Complete knowledge of hotel and/or franchise systems and operations. • Ensure all house charges are adjusted weekly. Review for accuracy and legitimacy. • Assist staff with expediting problem payments. • Assist with maintaining accounts receivable ledger to ensure payments are received timely. • Assist in the review and adjustment of monthly Profit and Loss statements. • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecasting of revenue, expenses and occupancy with accuracy. • Handle disputed charges by guests courteously, following proper procedures. • Communicate, update, and train all staff in the financial and audit SOP''s. • May perform payroll duties, and assist with human resources functions, as required. • May reconcile daily time records to determine actual hours worked, tips, differential rates, and hours to be charged to another department; resolve discrepancies with respective manager. • Reconcile daily cash • All other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
