The ARA team partners with various entities within the enterprise to increase operational value, optimize experience and lower healthcare costs. The ARA team serves across a wide variety of business domains including claims processing, payment integrity (fraud, waste, abuse, error), consumer experience (omnichannel, customer service, campaigns, net promoter scores), provider service models, and many more. This Data Analytics Consultant role will support the Transactions Analytics and Automation Domain to develop data-driven insights that lead to more effective decision-making and more efficient execution across multiple lines of business. This role specifically focuses on supporting Claim Operations teams throughout UnitedHealthcare in their efforts to streamline processes and reduce waste. You''ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: Work with business stakeholders to identify key business problems, then diagnose, analyze and synthesize data, analytics and reporting solutions to solve them Work with business teams and Data Engineering support teams to operationalize analytics solutions Perform as an individual contributor as a part of analytics and reporting solutions by querying a variety of data sources, wrangling data and building visually appealing dashboards and reports Perform as an individual contributor in the area of statistical analysis leveraging experimental design and other statistical concepts Engage in client communications for all important functions including data understanding/exploration, strategizing solutions, etc. Organize and present information via presentations to suit the needs and understanding of the audience You''ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in a highly quantitative field such as statistics, business analytics or computer science 2+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis, data science, data-driven investigations, data storytelling, visualizations, and analytic insight creation for executive consumption Experience handling terabyte size datasets, diving into data to discover hidden patterns, using data visualization tools Demonstrated experience performing statistical analysis and presenting results to a non-technical audience Knowledge and experience analyzing Medical claim data, as well as standard processes that generate data through the health care claim adjudication process Experience with extracting data from Enterprise Data Warehouses and Enterprise Data Lakes Experience with Spark and Hadoop stack Advanced proficiency in SQL Advanced proficiency in business intelligence tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc. Advanced proficiency in MS Office products: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Visio Preferred Qualifications: Experience with R and/or Python Experience with cloud based analytic services such as Snowflake Advanced degree in a highly quantitative field such as statistics, business analytics or computer science Solid theoretical and practical knowledge of Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence algorithms and techniques Familiarity with Agile Framework methodologies Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to identify root causes and recommend solutions Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating high level of maturity To protect the health and safety of our workforce, patients and communities we serve, UnitedHealth Group and its affiliate companies require all employees to disclose COVID-19 vaccination status prior to beginning employment. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900.
