Designed and built specifically for control system fabrication, our UL 508A and Hazardous Location certified shop offers state-of-the-art design, production, and testing facilities.While the heart of BLTIs business has been Control Panel Fabrication and System Integration, our Security & Fire Alarm divisions are already recognized as leaders in providing comprehensive solutions to comply with homeland security and life safety requirements.We are seeking a Fire Alarm & Security Project Manager will Lead and manage all aspects of the Fire Alarm and Security projects including project kick-off, coordinating the schedules of technical staff and subcontractors, ensuring that quality and standards are met (and exceeded), managing project budgets, maintaining project updates along with a variety of administrative tasks ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability by bringing projects in on-time and under budget.This role will interact with others within the organization including Sales, Production, Project Management, & Field Services to ensure success.The PM will also develop and maintain Quality Control processes for design, drawings, and software along with developing a scheduling system for all projects including resource requirements and the allocation of resources. This Project Manager will have demonstrated experience at executing multiple projects at a time.JOB DUTIESEssential DutiesCoordination and management of client projects includes reporting and accountability of schedule, budget, project performance and qualityOversees and participates in project planning, estimating, scheduling, staffing, procurement and execution of project scope of workManage and direct field personnel, guiding the team by demonstrating a strong work ethic and inspiring enthusiasm to ensure efficiency and productive outputs to meet project needsMaintains and manages client relationship and expectationManages the project Management of Changes (MOC) processCommunicates and coordinates 3rd party interface with vendors or sub-contractors on commercial as well as technical related project requirementsManages several cross-functional matrix projects through the full project life cycle processProvides industry analysis to support project proposal pursuitsLeads effort in preparation and development of project proposals & process control strategies submittalsParticipates in proposal/submittal review meetings, client site visits and estimating efforts as required in the development of the proposal/submittalWill represent BLTI in technical customer discussions/meetingsManage all elements of project including design reviews, design verification requirement & Spec developments and implementation. Competency with Fire Alarm & Security systems, programming and Standard Codes are requiredWork with Estimators in the quoting processProvide technical input to help identify and solve project risks that may affect overall project plans and schedulesSupport Business Development sales effortsStay abreast of the latest technology and techniques to provide designs that are competitive and cost effective while maintaining conformity with applicable standardsOther duties, as assigned, within ability and responsibility level of the job PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis job will primarily involve sitting at a computer desk for multiple hours at a timeWorking in Field Job site environment, lifting, carrying, squatting, and climbing laddersWORKING CONDITIONSOffice, production, and manufacturing shop environmentDaily and/or overnight travel in the field is requiredField environment; construction, treatment plantsSafety equipment required; hard hats, boots, safety vests, and eye protective gearMay be required to work overtime as neededQUALIFICATIONSEducational/Experience RequirementsBachelor''s degree in technical field from an ABET accredited four-year college or universityMinimum of 5-10 years of experiences as project engineer/project manager with working experiences and knowledge of commercial Fire Alarm and other low voltage systems including Burglary, Access Control, CCTV, Mass Notification, Intercom and Data, among other security and life safety systems. Will consider 15+ years of experiences as a project manager in the related field without a degree.Understanding of NFPA/NEC codeValid Texas FAL or APSNICET Certification a plusExperience with following products from listed manufactures or ability to learn and work with them: Honeywell Silent Knight/Farenhyt, Bosch, Lensec, Gallager, Access Specialties, Continental Access, Napco, Telecor, DSX Access Systems, Viking Gate Controllers, Aiphone, Samsung, Open OptionsSpecial Skills, Knowledge, or AbilitiesProficient in Microsoft Office Software especially MS Project and Power PointProficient in AUTOCADMust be able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and submittal specificationsRead and interpret systems programs/software and operational product manualsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
