Outpatient Oncology Nurse Navigator Requisition : 510428 Location: Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington, DC 20016 Category: Nursing Management/Leadership Work Shift: Day Shift Work Week: Full Time Weekend Work Required: No Date Posted: Aug. 11, 2022 GENERAL SUMMARY : The Oncology Nurse Navigator functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team who has clinical nursing expertise in cancer. She/he is a clinical resource, advocate, and educator with the goal of helping patients overcome health care system barriers and facilitate timely access to treatment. She/he is responsible for ensuring all patients with a cancer diagnosis receive quality and comprehensive services. She/he will coordinate patient care across the continuum from diagnosis through survivorship. She/he will serve as a clinical resource with expertise in cancer care management along with being a liaison within the facility and to community resources. She/he will provide expert nursing care, including direct clinical care, in addition to consultation, education, and research. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : Experience: Preferred three years direct patient care experience in oncology. Licensure: Current District of Columbia licensure or eligibility. Education: Minimum nursing baccalaureate degree from an accredited school. Certification: certification from the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Program (ONCC).
