Seeking a highly qualified experienced candidate that will serve as a portfolio Chief Engineer (CE) Senior Manager within the Enterprise Sustainment Solutions (ESS) Market Segment strategically leading the technical execution of multiple, complex, logistics systems supporting Logistics Information Systems (LIS), Defense Maintenance Solutions (DMS) and Material Sustainment Solutions (MSS) programs. This role will be responsible for successful new business, execution, technical success and the performance and culture of the team that supports them. Strong complex technical project execution experience is more important than technical domain experience for this role. As a portfolio Chief Engineer you will be accountable and responsible for overall Engineering and Technology cost, schedule, and technical portfolio performance. This role is for execution portfolio management role of technical content. As CE you will ensure overall technical integrity of the delivered product is maintained including Requirements Management, System Design, Hardware and Software Development, Integration & Test, Verification & Validation, Production, Deployment, Certification, and Sustainment. You will achieve success through leadership of assigned or selected Engineering Project Management (EPM) and extended staff. Specific responsibilities will include:• Serve as the Engineering and Technology point of contact for all programs within the portfolio across all Engineering disciplines • Accountable for the management of a P&L, capital, infrastructure, and staffing forecast• Leading the execution and business rhythm for the portfolio and assigned IPT leads • Responsible for the hiring, coaching, mentoring and career development of EPMs to support the sub-market segment• Responsible for all personnel performance, training and management in direct reporting chain • Partner with the Strategic Product Support (SPS) Organization to ensure technical roadmap is consistent with portfolio vision and needs• Partner with assigned Integrated Engineering Leadership o Identify and secure appropriate staffing o Partner to meet cost, schedule, and technical baselines• Foster an environment of innovation and agility in the portfolio both in technology offerings and in execution performance• Ensure that program Engineering and Technology processes and procedures are defined and followed• Ability to analyze data and extract execution intelligence to drive success and highlight potential execution derailers early• Ability to communicate execution status, technical solutions and issues internally to program leadership, technical leadership and partner organizations.• Conduct Reviews with Customer & Suppliers that identify and mitigate cost, technical, and schedule risks• ~20% Travel may be requiredBasic Qualifications:• Bachelor''s degree in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 20 years or more of professional experience; or 18 years with a related Masters, or 15 years with a related PhD degree. • Strong demonstrated track record of Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors • Executive presence with senior levels of the organization• Demonstrated results leading a program or portfolio with a continuous improvement mindset • Previous Development EPM experience that includes planning and execution of a contract with a customer through successful sell off on budget and on schedule at required quality• A track record of leveraging metrics and data to drive estimating, planning and execution decision making • Demonstrated ability to define an execution vision and leading a team to achieve that vision• Demonstrated experience managing the integrity of a technical baseline through multiple lifecycle phases• Previous experience leading and bidding significant proposal efforts • Previous experience successfully managing program sell off inclusive of complex negotiations• Previous experience managing a program with subcontract content and partnering with SPMs to flow Specs, SSOWs and ensuring successful delivery of supplier content• Demonstrated experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment, be process oriented, and highly experienced in maturing a total system solution throughout the entire system lifecycle from identification of stakeholder needs through product sustainment• Ability to obtain Secret ClearanceDesired Skills:• Previous functional leadership • Experience in multiple disciplines of Engineering• Full Lifecyle leadership experience• Experience leading SRR, PDR, CDR and TRR reviews• Ability to plan strategically and translate these strategies into daily, weekly and monthly tactical actions and tasks• Demonstrated experience in developing high performance team and leading culture change in the organizationBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.Qualifications Lockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
