Job DetailsJob LocationHighland- Clarksburg Hospital - Clarksburg, WVPosition TypeInternshipJob ShiftAnyJob DescriptionHIGHLAND CLARKSBURG HOSPITALJOB DESCRIPTIONTHERAPIST INTERN- TEMPORARYJOB SUMMARY:Individual will assist with group, individual, and family therapy under supervision from licensed therapy staff. Individual will also provide evidence-based behavioral interventions and therapeutic strategies to patients and families, assist with case management and safety planning, observe treatment plans and reviews, assist with crisis intervention, complete Columbia assessments, and observe and participate in treatment team meetings while supervised by therapy staff. Reports directly to the Director of Therapy.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Under supervision of a Masters prepared therapy staff member, may assist with the following:Provide supportive counseling for adult, adolescent, and child patientsProvide group therapy for adult, adolescence, and child patients.Provide group therapy for adults, adolescence, and children.Assists with completing patient assessmentsAssists with safety and discharge planningAssists with crisis interventionAssists with treatment planningPresents patient information at treatment tem meetings for reviews of patient progress and discharge planning procedures. Maintains all clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and accrediting standardsDocuments and reports all suspected incidents of abuse and/or neglect in compliance with current regulations. ADDITIONAL DUTIES:Meets staff development requirements.Other related duties as assigned. Education and Experience:Must have completed Bachelor''s degree in a behavioral health field (social work, counseling, psychology). General Social Work Licensure preferred. Certificates, License, Registration:NoneLanguage Skills:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable as needed. Ability to write routine reports and speak effectively with patients and their families, employees and public.Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable as needed. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.Other Skills and Abilities:Ability to deal with a variety of personality types; remains calm during high stress situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands describe herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must occasionally assist or lift patient and be able to move up to 100 pounds. Incumbent will be expected to participate as necessary in the physical restraint of patients, have the ability to respond to rapidly escalating patient situations, and adapt to the may varied resultant physical posturing as a result of such circumstances after Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT:Incumbent functions in normal building environment or community settings, requiring the ability to adapt to periodic changes in environment conditions, i.e. temperature, air quality and noise.
