Patient Transporter

Position SummaryAccurately and efficiently transports patients, wheelchairs, and stretchers to and from nursing units and ancillary departments. Uses transport equipment correctly. Cleans transportation equipment, participates in transportation equipment maintenance. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the mission and vision of Spartanburg Medical Center. Minimum RequirementsEducation High School Diploma or equivalentExperience N/ALicense/Registration/Certifications CPR Certification (on the job training and certification)Preferred RequirementsPreferred Education N/APreferred Experience N/APreferred License/Registration/Certifications N/ACore Job ResponsibilitiesSafely transporting patients within the hospitalsProperly sanitizing all transport equipment.Moving within assigned areas and throughout the Medical Center as necessaryMay require moderate to heavy liftingAbility to stand, walk and/or bend for prolonged periods of timeMust be able to discharge/transfer patients and push wheelchairs and stretchers.Must be able to manipulate equipment.
