KBR is looking for a Facility Laboratory Manager to provide specialized support for facility maintenance with several different types of equipment involving vacuum chambers, clean rooms, and optical verification testing at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL). Position is full-time on-site at NRL in SE Washington, DC. The Facility Laboratory Manager will be accountable for the facility used to test the flight optical instruments involving vacuum chamber, clean room, and optical source lighting. Support entails maintaining vacuum chamber systems, developing, and coordinating mechanical Ground Support Equipment (GSE), and collaborating with NRL stakeholders to accommodate laboratory work in a research and development facility. Support includes hands-on experience working on a state-of-the-art optical vacuum facility, the Solar Coronagraph Optical Test Chamber (SCOTCH), for testing spaceflight instruments for NASA and NOAA missions. ***US citizenship required*** Responsibilities: * Manage all aspect of the Facility Laboratory* Interface with stakeholders* Maintain the vacuum system for the NRL Solar Coronagraph Optical Test Chamber (SCOTCH)* Maintain other thermal vacuum systems* Develop and coordinate Mechanical GSE for Laboratory testing* Support optical vacuum verification testing Required Education, Experience, & Skills: * High school diploma* 5+ years related experience maintaining vacuum systems* Relevant mechanical technician experience working with ground support equipment* Good written and oral communications skills Desired Experience & Skills: Associate Degree desirable 15 + years related experience maintaining vacuum systems
